Leadership Habits: Little by little, a little becomes a lot

The smallest crowd you will ever lead is yourself — and it’s the most important one!  When you get it right, others will follow. All behavior is addictive, and all behavior seeks more of itself. This is why our daily habits either make or break success and quality of life. In this session you will learn how small changes in behavior can make big improvements in your leadership abilities. Tiny habits, working toward your better self, is the key to success — because at the center of everything that happens to you is YOU!

Key takeaways: Identify tiny daily habits that will transform your life. Create your 3 wins per day game plan. Control your inner game so that your outer game shines.

His presentation “Leadership Habits: Little by little, a little becomes a lot” was engaging from start to finish. With a compelling blend of personal stories, practical insights and powerful energy, Jim captivated us and left a lasting impact. He connected with us and his authenticity was refreshing. Success Psychology: Science of self-talk

Leverage your inner voice—the one that provides a running monologue.  Cheerful and supportive or negative and self-defeating, self-talk combines your conscious thoughts with your unconscious beliefs and biases.  Human nature is prone to negative self-talk, making sweeping assertions like “I can’t do anything right!” or “I’m a complete failure!”  The good news is that you can challenge that negative self-talk and fuel an opportunistic mindset.

“Jim was very engaging, and his presentation was a mix of interactive dialogue and relevant content for today’s HR Leader. I was most impressed at his ability to provide real time advice and expertise for our questions “right in the moment”. Our chapter certainly walked away with some new inspirations! I suggest him to any chapter seeking to add some zest to their programming with a speaker who is passionate about his content.”
~ Julia Groft, PHR, SHRM-CP, Vice President of Operations

Conversation Capacity: Conquering difficult conversations

As human beings we must have difficult conversations when facing problems with others, but there is always a choice in how to respond during these challenging circumstances. Attendees will engage with each other, learn how to treat dialogue as a discipline, and walk away with a simple and easy-to-use tactic for adapting to shifting circumstances with greater speed and creativity. Learn how Conversational Capacity can guide us in making better choices—especially in the face of difficult situations.

“I had the pleasure of listening to Jim speak.  He is a real, passionate, and engaging presenter with some fantastic take-aways that I plan on implementing in my own conversations. “
~ Rachel Stevens, CEBS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP Director of Benefits and Compensation

Coaching in the Workplace: Turn sheer compliance into unwavering commitment

The old ways of running a workplace — annual reviews, command and control, and outdated management competencies — don’t get the intended results.  Leaders must gain insight into employees’ evolving wants and needs and learn how to build an exceptional workplace.  Participants will learn how to make the shift from manager to coach using their personal power, talents, vision, values and integrity in a way that moves their employees forward.  Participants also learn how to conduct one-on-one meetings with employees to create possibilities and opportunities that didn’t exist before.

“Jim gave his Coaching Conversations presentation to our Management Team last week. His humorous approach to leadership and leadership development is always welcomed. Our team walked away with tools and tips they can use today to improve their coaching skills and further the goals of our team!”
~ Amber Matindale Bernot, PHR Director of Human Resources

Emotional intelligence (EQ)

We all succumb to being ruled by our emotions from time to time.  It’s part of being human. The key is not allowing ourselves to get stuck in this mode.  Remaining here we become overly frustrated, even agitated by situations and/or people.  Simply put, we are in a rut.  There is good news.  Even when you can’t do or say anything to change difficult events in your life, you always have a say in your perspective of what’s happening.  Even better is that perspective frames your emotions more than the actual event does.  Thus, you will empower yourself to choose the best reaction(s).  This session will educate and inspire the audience on the “how to’s” for practicing self-awareness.

“I just attended an event this morning on Emotional Intelligence presented by Jim Carchidi.  Wow – He was fantastic, very relatable and inspiring!!!  What an amazing presentation by a great Leader.”
~ Barbi Cottingham, Sales & Marketing Coordinator

Building Great Teams

Teams today are different from the teams those of the past: they’re far more diverse, spread out, and dynamic (with frequent changes in membership). But while teams face new hurdles, their success still hinges on a core set of fundamentals for group collaboration. An interactive workshop that will have you questioning previous perceptions of teamwork and embarking on a journey of discovery for priming teams of today for success.

“I had the pleasure to hear Jim’s presentation. His talk was both enjoyable and educational, using real-life examples and experiences that held our attention and made learning fun!”
