Job Description
Calling all Mechanical Designers/Detailers! JFC Global is looking on behalf of our client for a stellar candidate. Our client is located in York, PA and is targeting for this position to be Contract to Hire.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with the project manager and any other team members to create shop and erection drawings by interpreting design documents from the structural engineer and the architect
- Utilize Tekla software to quickly and efficiently create 3D models and shop/erection drawings
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and other instructions to create accurate and constructible drawings
- Perform detailed dimensional and bill of material checks
- Inspect design for interferences and constructability
- Perform basic and complex layouts using Tekla Structures
- Provide detailing solutions to address various field fixes as they may arise throughout the fabrication and installation
- Assist team members with any drawing support required to complete the drawing approval, fabrication, or erection process to ensure excellence
- Review and modify RFI’s, addendums and new drawings to incorporate any changes into the design and drawings
- Maintain record of changes for purposes of submitting change orders
- Generate RFI’s as required to solve design questions and/or conflicts
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and experience of detailing of structural steel framed buildings, or industrial facilities such as: mining, heavy plate work, hydroelectric, gas plants, chemical plants, conveyors, and bulk material handling facilities is preferred
- Ability to navigate Tekla, AutoCAD and SDS 3D models in order to obtain locations, elevations, coordinates, etc.
- Experience and utilizing Tekla, AutoCAD/Revit/Advance Steel, and SDS is preferred
- Ability to understand and implement requirements of AISC Standard practices and OSHA
- Relevant detailing experience and knowledge in structural and miscellaneous steel is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to effectively function in a team environment
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Must be detail orientated and have strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and overtime as required
